Definition: Quantity of unbalanced "electricity" in a body, i.e. an excess or deficiency of electrons. Charge can be either positive or negative and always exists in multiples of the fundamental amount of charge on an electron. When a particle posessing an electric charge is placed in an electric field, it experiences a force, proportional to the size of the charge.
