Q. What is a Beard-second?

Is there a unit (of length) called a "Beard-Second"? I had heard this term many years ago, but cannot find any references to it. Supposedly it is the distance (length) an average beard grows in a second. Just curious!

Before I was asked this question, I had never heard of the beard-second, but Michael Ney found a reference to it on a web page - it is about 5x10^-7cm. I still doubt that it has ever been used as anything other than a teaching game.
