The Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics

The Law of Temperature and Thermal Equilibrium

When two systems are in thermal equilibrium with a third body (like a thermometer), they are also in thermal equilibrium with each other. Further, these bodies are all at the same temperature. This law allows us to define temperature scales and thermometers. Two objects in thermal equilibrium with each other are taken to be the same temperature.
