electromagnetically induced transperancy - definition - optics, quantum and atomic physics
Definition: Some materials that are normally opaque to light of a certain frequency can be made transparent to that "probe" light by illuminating them from another direction with a different frequency of light. The second light excites electrons into particular energy levels within atoms. This change in electronic structure then allows the probe beam to pass through.
